Young Jeezy’s Ban the Snowman – Three Stars?

Ok, so Jeezy’s new album might not be the best work I have ever heard, but I like it quite a bit. I like it more than three stars, that is for sure. But, I don’t share the same views about Jeezy’s music as some other “music critics” out there. Here is what one had to say about Young Jeezy’s new album:

Young Jeezy “You Can’t Ban the Snowman” 3 stars Young Jeezy’s latest CD isn’t a sequel to “Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101,” his mesmerizing album from last year. Instead, it’s a sequel to “Tha Streets Iz Watchin” and “Trap or Die,” the thrilling mixtapes — compiled, like this one, by DJ Drama — that helped lay the foundation for this Atlanta rapper’s success. He sounded hungry on those mixtapes. Now that he’s had half a year to feast on the success of “Let’s Get It,” the mood has changed. This is a casual and likable CD: Sometimes Young Jeezy doesn’t even bother to make his lines rhyme, but his low rasp still works its magic. The expected proteges show up (Slick Pulla and Blood Raw), and Young Jeezy spends some time updating his enemies list: Apparently he still hasn’t forgotten a CNN report he didn’t like. But one of the best moments comes when he makes a cheerful admission. People “say I can’t rap and they might be right,” he announces, shrugging off the insult for the same reason he wears a diamond-encrusted snowman chain: because he can afford to.

Umm, what about the music. Why does it have to be about the ice?
